Topsail Island Surf School is family-owned and operated. Located on Topsail Island, North Carolina. Specializing in private and group surf lessons for all ages and skill levels. Our mission is to share our love of surfing to everyone. Offering the best surf experience possible by providing a safe, positive, and fun surf lesson. Come surf with us at our location, 101 Roland Ave. The best waves on Topsail Island are just steps from TI Surf School. We offer mobile service to all of Topsail Island, bringing surfboards and our crew right to your beach house, for just a $30 fee. Please call to book mobile lessons. All our instructors at Topsail Island Surf School are FIRST-AID/CPR CERTIFIED, and have many years of surf experience, we will have you riding the waves in no time! Topsail Island Surf School

Private SURF Lesson

Private surf lessons are specifically designed to teach anyone how to surf at their own pace. Guaranteeing 1 on 1 instruction, maximizing your wave count and knowledge during the lesson. Offered for 1 person, or groups up to 4 surfers.

Group SURF Lesson

Group surf lessons are perfect for those looking for a group activity full of fun, while making great memories with your family and friends. Everyone will learn a ton about the ocean, and ride plenty of waves. Offered for 2 or more surfers (2-3 surfers to 1 instructor)

2024 Summer Surf Camp

Monday-Thursday from 8am-10:30am @ Topsail Island Surf School Shack. 101 Roland Ave, Surf City. - Foam surfboards, rash guards, shade, water, and fruit provided. For ages 7-15.

Looking for a scenic adventure, a paddle board tour may be up you're alley. First we will teach you the basics of paddle boarding, then head off paddling the intercostal water ways. It's filled with all kinds of wild life including dolphins, birds, and many different fish species. Offered for singles and groups.

What does a private and group lesson involve?

Private and Group lessons both begin with a beach instruction for about 10-15 minutes providing information about the waves, winds, tides, the pop-up, surfboards, surfer etiquette, and water safety. 1 hour will be spent in the water!
